Offensive Woes Continue
The Crew have not scored in over 275 minutes. The team may have a tough time scoring against San Jose next Saturday if third hand Internet rumors turn out to be true. Robbie Rogers is reported to have a swollen knee after last week’s game versus Chivas. The mysteriously well sourced The Early Bath also reports that Rogers missed a call up to the National Team for the game versus Spain on Wednesday. Neither are hard to believe after the start of the season Rogers has had and how the Chivas defense roughed him up to neutralize him.
This team relies on a few key players to start the offense. Schelotto has been in poor form for several weeks. Teams have cut off Moreno’s supply, rendering him ineffective. Midfielder Adam Moffat has been missed and Eddie Gaven continues to be missing on the offensive end. Without Rogers, this team loses a giant threat. There is no one on the team that can replace his skill and speed. It makes it that much harder to get behind the defense and make something happen. I certainly hope that Rogers is feeling better, but regardless if he plays versus San Jose, the rest of the team needs to step up on the offensive end.
