Past and Present Crew

August 28, 2008

Two former Crew goalkeepers led their current teams to results in the CONCACAF Champions League. Keeper Matt Jordan and former Crew midfielder David Testo led USL1 team the Montreal Impact to a 1-0 home win against Real Estelí. Even more impressively, the Puerto Rico Islanders, also of USL1 tied Alajuelense in Costa Rica. The effort was lead by Bill Gaudette, who deflected a late shot and stopped a 90th minute penalty to preserve the tie. Congratulations to Crew alumni doing well.

Moving to the present day Crew, Frankie Hejduk earned another call up for the upcoming games against Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago. I almost wish Rogers would have gotten a call, but he will be avalable for the September 6th clash versus the Revolution.
