Game 22: Grades

September 4, 2008

Hesmer – 7: Great on shot stopping and was solid on balls in the air.

Hejduk – 7: Not involved in the offense as much now that Gaven has come alive.

Iro – 7: I was impressed with his speed. He kept up with Cunningham and almost had a header goal. Cooper was a nonfactor with his physical presence.

Marshall – 7: Another good game. He had issues with Cunningham, but he performed well.

Padula – 7: His passing and ball movement was excellent yet again and he did well on the defensive end.

Gaven – 9: Even better than last week. He got a goal and almost got a second off another header.

Evans – 7: He had another solid game. Good in possession, but shaky on the defensive end.

Carroll – 7: Brian again slowed down the opposition coming through the midfield. Another below the radar effort.

Rogers – 7: Extended the defense with his speed, but was again overshadowed by the return of Gaven.

Schelotto – 9: He is breathtaking to watch. His second assist was marvelous.

Moreno – 7: Quick thinking on the redirected header for the goal, and really setup the offense with his hard work.

Noonan – 6: I am still seeing bits of the value Noonan will provide, but he keeps getting into games when the Crew are ahead. The Revs will be the perfect test.

Zayner –  NR: Provided defensive mettle for the last few minutes.

Miglioranzi – NR: No chance to make an impression

Crew Man of the Match – Gaven – The goal caps a resurgent couple of weeks from Eddie. I hope he has turned the corner.
