Game 27: Grades

October 7, 2008

Hesmer – 6: Reacted well to any Galaxy pressure. He closed down Buddle and Donovan when they were able to break through.

O’Rourke – 7: The assist was a brilliant touch. He did keep Lewis from impacting the game.

Iro – 7: Played a very good game, but got turned around a couple of times.

Marshall – 8: Outstanding defense. He is a black hole in the center of the defense.

Padula – 7: Beckham who?

Gaven – 6: He is returning to his quiet ways. I would love to see the hungry Gaven of a few games ago.

Evans – 6: He still gets caught out of position on defense, but impresses in the air and gets forward well.

Carroll – 7: Every game the same, stop the opposing offense and counterattack. I was worried when he was slow to get up, he is the glue in the middle.

Rogers – 7: L.A. could not contain his speed, but he failed to make them pay as his finishing touch was off.

Schelotto – 6: Rusty in his first match action since early September.

Moreno – 7: Finally got the goal he deserved. Hardworking Moreno sets the tone for this team.

Noonan –  6: He is a smart player, showing that he is a solid option for these late game situations.

Ekpo – 5: Would have liked to see him stretch the Galaxy defense more.

Crew Man of the Match – Marshall – I have a feeling he could be called in for next Wednesday’s national team match.
