Game 29: Grades
Plenty of blame to go around after that performance. Please remember, I am consciously trying to lower my grades to highlight some truly outstanding performances.
Gruenebaum – 3: He had a rough day even before allowing the first goal from a goalkeeper during play. Came out too quickly on the first goal.
Padula – 6: Impressive work on the left side. He may not be the quickest, but he is rarely beaten.
Hendrickson – 3: Slow and overmatched. His mistakes were costly, and I hope he is not needed in the playoffs.
Iro – 4: Ugly performance, I wonder if he is hitting the rookie wall even though he has only played just over 1,000 minutes.
O’Rourke – 5: Solid, but not spectacular.
Carroll – 5: His minutes played streak is over. I hope he enjoyed his 3 minute rest.
Evans – 5: Quiet and solid in the middle. His passing was better than last week.
Ekpo – 4: Did not make an impact on the game until late. Had issues with the turf and showed considerable rust.
Noonan – 4: I would love to see more out of Noonan. Consistently out of sync with the team.
Schelotto – 6: Not his best game, but played 90 solid minutes. His free kicks are nearing full potency.
Lenhart – 4: Was awful all game except for his goal. Really did not play the target man roll well at all.
Garey – 4: Another player who had difficulty adjusting to the turf and the change in lineup. He did not improve on Lenhart’s weak performance.
Gaven – NR: Nothing of note in his short stint, save the high and tight haircut he was sporting.
Oughton – NR: Good to see Duncan get a run out in the first team, for perhaps the last time.
Crew Man of the Match – Schelotto: He is rounding into playoff form.
