Game 8: Grades

May 11, 2009

Gruenebaum – 5: He’s a shot stopper, but his mistake on the first goal was a bad one.

Hejduk – 7: Great return. He added extra bite on the right side. He does need to watch the two footed challenges though. He can get caught with a red card if he isn’t careful.

O’Rourke – 6: His speed is his best asset. He is not a natural in the back.

Marshall – 7: He is always on his game.

Padula – 6: He is a battler. He had a rough time after he injured his ankle, but his backheel to start the first goal was classy.

Ekpo – 7: A complete game on the right. His goal was pure hustle and poaching. He also played quite a bit of defense.

Carroll – 7: Between him and Gaven, KC had nothing happening in the middle.

Gaven – 7: Calm and assured in the middle. Involved in the offense and played very well on defense. The goal was the perfect cap to the night.

Rogers – 7: Now getting back up to speed. He showed he can be a difference maker with his assist and helping to setup the first goal.

Schelotto – 7: Turned 36 the week before the game. Looked like a man 10 years younger.

Moreno – 6: Most of the offense came out of midfield, but he provided quality support.

Brunner – NR: Not enough time to rate.

Oughton – NR: Not enough time to rate.

Crew Man of the Match – Gaven: He turned in a complete game. He was influential on offense, bagged a goal, and played defense. Not bad for the 2nd game in the middle.
